Variety was obtained in 1901 from France (Orléans). In 1918 it received from the Tbilisi Botanical Garden with name Melignara. It is similar to variety described by Eisen (1901) and Condit (1955) as Datte Quotidienne. It is described by Arendt (1939, 1949), Chernenko (1940), Fedorov (1950) in our country. It has one crop of fruits, no pollination required, the presence of seeds in the fruit significantly improves the quality and increases the yield. Variety matures in the second half of September – October.
Tree has a high and broad rounded crown. Branches usually have 2-4 annual shoots, colour dark olive, slightly grayish, medium thickness or thick (1.1-1.4 cm), with large round or oval light lenticels on the nodes. Apical buds are gradually tapering towards the top with a short curved tip, pink and yellow. Inflorescences are light green, shape of reversed egg, with rather short (0.5-0.6 cm) tails, short legs, symmetrical, with slightly bulging eyes and a small pinkish, sunken scales, dull, with a fairly dense average spots. Leaves are of three, sometimes five lobes, thin, dark green, highly glossy on top and bright, slightly pubescent under. Petioles are thick, medium length, light yellow. Middle and outer side of the blade large incised by more than half, narrowed to the base, the central Nye blade strongly expanded in the middle part; notch rounded, wide (1.5-2 cm), slightly wider at ends. Truncated base of the leaves, sometimes heart-shaped, finely toothed edges.
Fruits are medium size (5,0X4,5 cm), weighing 40-50 g, oval, pear-shaped, thick neck length, slightly ribbed, almost without pubescence. Peduncle short (0.4-0.5 cm). Peel sweet, but thick, yellowish-green, with red and purple blurred blush, more intense on the sunny side. Fruits without seeds are of pale olive color. Eyes are closed, small, reddish-olive. Base is greenish-cream; Flesh is dark crimson, oily, with a small cavity. Seeds are small, a few quantity. Fruits are sweet, with moderate acidity and a little taste of latex.
